Search Engine Optimization (SEO): The process of optimizing a website and it’s external links in an effort to increase its ranking in popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Local Search Engine Optimization (SEO): The process of optimizing a website and it’s external links, citations and Google My Business account in an effort to increase its rankings in Google’s Local Search Results. The results that appear with a marker and address beside the listing.

Barnacle Search Engine Optimization (SEO): The process of optimizing a business’s information, typically on an authoritative directory, in an effort to have that web page rank highly due to the directory’s established authority.

Organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO): The process of optimizing a website and it’s external links, and content in an effort to increase its ranking in Google’s Organic Search Results. The results that appear with a title, URL and description in the search results.

Citation: A reference to a business’s Name, Address, and Phone Number found on the web, typically in directories.

Click Through Rate (CTR): The number of times a website appears in the search results divided by the number of clicks the website listing receives.

Backlinks: Also known as a hyperlink, backlinks are the connective, clickable text found throughout the web.

Inbound Links: Hyperlinks pointed to your website.
